'Grief remains' - Peter Anala's family appeals for prayers one year after helicopter crash
Peter Bafemi Anala's family appealed for prayers on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the National Inter-Faith Memorial Service, one year after his death in a military helicopter crash. Family representative Percy Anala stated, "We ask you to keep the families of the fallen in your prayers. Though time passes, grief remains. Your ongoing love, encouragement and support are priceless." Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala was one of eight people who died in the August 6, 2025, crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.
Percy Anala noted that the late officer's absence continues to leave a significant void for his wife, young daughter, mother, and the wider family. He reflected that "Today marks one year since our lives changed forever. Though a year has passed, it feels like yesterday. The loss of our beloved Peter Bafemi Anala remains profoundly painful." The family also remembered the seven other victims of the crash and expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and the Government of Ghana.
