Ghana's Deputy Ambassador to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sanni Jajah dies

Sanni Jajah, Ghana's Deputy Head of Mission and Deputy Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, died on the evening of Saturday, August 9. His death was announced by Yussif Jajah, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, who described the late diplomat as his nephew. In a Facebook post, the MP described the development as a heavy loss to the family and appealed to the public to remember the bereaved family in their thoughts and prayers.

Sanni Jajah was appointed Deputy Head of Mission at Ghana's Embassy in Saudi Arabia on September 11, 2025, by President John Dramani Mahama. He served alongside Ghana's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Said Sinare, and played a key role in the country's diplomatic and consular engagements. His responsibilities included supporting Ghanaian nationals in Saudi Arabia and assisting pilgrims travelling for the annual Hajj. His death comes less than a year after his appointment. The family is expected to announce details of the funeral and burial arrangements in due course.
