Ghana National Fire Service pays courtesy call on Asantehemaa
Ghana National Fire Service personnel from the Manhyia Fire Station paid a courtesy call on the newly enstooled Asantehemaa, Nana Yaa Akyaa II, at the Manhyia Palace. The delegation, led by Station Commander DO II Prince Gyau Baffour, formally paid homage following her recent selection by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The visit also aimed at strengthening the cordial relationship between the Ghana National Fire Service and the traditional leadership of the Ashanti Kingdom.
DO II Prince Gyau Baffour congratulated Nana Yaa Akyaa II on her elevation and expressed the Service's readiness to collaborate with traditional authorities in promoting public safety, fire prevention, and emergency response within the Ashanti Kingdom. Nana Yaa Akyaa II succeeds the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away in 2025. As Asantehemaa, Nana Yaa Akyaa II serves as a key advisor to the Asantehene, custodian of Ashanti culture, and motherly figure to the people of the kingdom. Her selection has been widely welcomed across the Ashanti Region.
