Gabonese President departs Accra after concluding three-day state visit
President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of Gabon departed Accra for Libreville on Thursday after concluding a three-day State Visit to Ghana. He was seen off at the Accra International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama and other government officials. A major outcome of the visit was the deepening of bilateral cooperation through the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs): an MoU on Political Consultations and an MoU on Cooperation in Diplomatic Training.
During the visit, President Mahama and President Nguema held bilateral talks at the Jubilee House in Accra, leading to the signing of the agreements. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the objectives of the African Union's Agenda 2063 and the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They also reiterated their commitment to the principles and objectives of the Constitutive Act of the African Union and the Charter of the United Nations. The leaders underscored the need for African countries and communities to reject xenophobia.
