From xenophobia to prosperity: Emmanuel Asamoah launches hardware empire with Ibrahim Mahama's backing
Emmanuel Asamoah has completed the legal and logistical framework to launch his own cement distribution and hardware business. The venture was established under the direct patronage of business mogul Ibrahim Mahama, marking the fulfilment of a high-profile pledge to rehabilitate Asamoah. Mahama committed GH₵200,000 in seed capital and a comprehensive business setup package.
Before this, Asamoah was a nail technician and hairdresser in South Africa. He returned to Ghana with physical and psychological scars. The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and Ghana's High Commissioner to South Africa, BenjaminQuashie, hosted him at the Ministry. Mr. Mahama assured him during their initial meeting, "We'll make you a cedi millionaire," and added, "Ambassador, if there are any other people there, let them all come back home. There are so many opportunities here for them."
Asamoah has now officially completed the registration and setup for his depot. Emmanuel Asamoah opens the doors to his new hardware establishment this week.
