Fire outbreaks destroy structures in Nungua, Odorkor; no casualties recorded
Two separate fire outbreaks destroyed structures in Nungua and Odorkor Official Town on Thursday, August 6, in the Krowor and Ga Central municipalities. The incidents caused significant property losses but no reported casualties. The first fire, reported at 3:38 am, occurred along Old Kasaperko Road in Nungua, where a metal container used for commercial activities was completely engulfed. Firefighters arrived at 3:53 am and brought the fire under control by 4:00 am, but the container and all its contents were destroyed.
The second incident, reported at 2:08 am, occurred at Odorkor Official Town near Adi Junction, affecting both residential and commercial structures. The emergency response team arrived at 2:27 am to find flames spreading through several wooden structures. Three wooden residential structures and one wooden structure serving as a mechanic's workshop storeroom were destroyed. No injuries or fatalities were recorded in either incident. The cause of both the Nungua and Odorkor fires remains under investigation.
