Fire destroys two vehicles at Mahean, no casualties reported
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) extinguished a vehicular fire at Mahean near Divine Glory School in the Greater Accra Region, preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby properties and additional vehicles. Personnel from the Anyaa Fire Station responded after the Fire Master Control received a distress call at 9:40 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2026. The firefighting team, led by Assistant Divisional Officer II (ADO II) Tetteh David Quansah, was dispatched a minute later and arrived at the scene at 10:02 p.m. The fire was brought under control by 10:18 p.m. and completely extinguished at 10:54 p.m.
The blaze completely destroyed a Toyota Highlander with registration number GN-3868-Y and a Nissan Sentra bearing registration number GE-6765-12. A Nissan Coaster school bus with registration number GT-2061-N also sustained partial fire damage. No injuries or fatalities were recorded in the incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be established, with the Ghana National Fire Service saying investigations are underway.
