Fire destroys printing euipment worth over GH¢300,000 in Kasoa
Victoria Adobea experienced a fire outbreak on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Kasoa. The fire destroyed equipment worth over GH¢300,000 at her printing facility. The incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. during a rainstorm and completely gutted Suit Printing Press.
Victoria Adobea was alerted by a security man who "noticed smoke billowing from the shop." She said, "Around 5 a.m., the security man here called me and said he could see smoke coming from the shop. We asked him to report it to the fire service, and as we were on our way, they told us they were also coming." She also stated, "When they arrived, the fire was already everywhere, but they tried to put it out. Everything here got burnt. We can't even retrieve a pin. All the machines we installed are destroyed." Victoria Adobea disclosed that the business had taken steps to ensure electrical safety before installing the equipment, saying, "Last December, we went to ECG to inform them about our installation and asked them to inspect our wiring. They gave us recommendations, we complied fully, and they approved it before we started operations." She suspects the fire may have been triggered by an electrical fault, possibly linked to a transformer in the area, adding, "I learnt the transformer there caught fire, and suddenly, smoke started coming from the shop. During the Eid period, a similar incident happened, and we even saw fire on the wires."
Victoria Adobea is appealing for support. She said, "We are calling on all interested persons, especially our MP and traditional leaders, to come to our aid. This business supports the youth of Kasoa and contributes to the 24-hour economy. We are trying to create jobs to reduce unemployment, and this is what has happened."
