Fire destroys Nobya TV/FM in Nalerigu
Nobya TV/FM was destroyed by a fire at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Nalerigu, East Mamprusi Municipality, North East Region. The blaze consumed the television and radio station's premises, wiping out all broadcasting equipment and bringing operations to a standstill. Management stated that none of the station's property was salvaged. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The inferno destroyed all equipment for both FM and television stations, crippling the broadcaster's ability to transmit programs. Nobya FM was established on May 5, 2018, initially operating as a radio station before expanding into television broadcasting. Personnel from the North East Regional Police Command and the Ghana National Fire Service visited the scene and launched investigations to determine the cause of the fire. The Station Manager, Yaw Jadam Boakye, described the incident as a painful blow to the organization.
