Fear grips Banka-Busuafise after one is shot dead, two beheaded in two weeks
Banka-Busuafise is gripped by fear after one was shot dead and two beheaded in two weeks. The residents of Banka-Busuafise, a community near Ashalaja in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, are living in fear following a series of violent incidents that have left three people dead within two weeks.
The attacks are believed to be linked to suspected landguard activities. The Assembly Member for the Ashalaja Electoral Area, Gilbert Kwame Afekpe, said two victims were beheaded, with their bodies later discovered in an uncompleted building. He further disclosed that a Nigerian national who had visited the area to inspect a parcel of land was shot dead, bringing the death toll to three. Another individual was recently stabbed and is currently in critical condition receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. Veronica Amoh, a resident, said the violence is already affecting daily life in the community, especially for children, and that many parents are now afraid to send their children to school due to the ongoing insecurity.
Mr. Afekpe has appealed to the Ghana Police Service, particularly the Inspector-General of Police, to urgently intervene and restore calm. Residents are calling for swift action from authorities to address the situation and prevent further loss of life.
