Nana Sarfo Oduro, a member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), defended the Association's handling of accommodation and financial arrangements for national teams and coaches on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem. He stated, "GFA spending is not public funding, so I don't see why people should cry over it." He also said that journalists raising concerns "don't even know who is paying the hotel bills."
Oduro explained that the GFA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have shared responsibilities, especially for travel and logistics for national teams. He noted that the Ministry of Sports was responsible for booking tickets when affiliate bodies such as Beach Soccer were travelling. He revealed that the GFA paid for the U-15 girls' tickets when they were travelling to Zimbabwe and that the hotel bills for the U-17 girls who went to Togo recently are still outstanding. He said, "Coaches have stayed in hotels and we have paid."
The Ghana Football Association confirmed that Carlos Queiroz will be accommodated in a hotel upon arrival in Ghana. Sheikh Tophic Sienu, GFA Communications Director, said the five-bedroom official residence in Accra's Airport Residential Area has been converted into office space. Carlos Queiroz is expected to be officially unveiled on April 23, 2026.
