Driver escapes unhurt after car crashes into electricity pole in North Dayi District
A male driver escaped injury after his car crashed into an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) distribution pole at Anfoega Adame Newtown in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region on Sunday, 6th July 2026. The accident occurred directly opposite the Anfoega Fire Station, enabling firefighters to respond immediately after witnessing the incident.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) found a Hyundai Accent with registration number GW 6383-17 lodged against the pole. The rescue operation was led by Station Officer I (StnO I) Franklin Soglo. Firefighters safely extricated the driver, who was trapped, and advised him to seek medical examination as a precaution. The damaged vehicle was towed to the nearest police station for investigations, and firefighters managed traffic at the scene. The cause of the accident has not yet been established.
