Dominase gets $250,000 ultra-modern water system to end years of water crisis
Dominase received a $250,000 ultra-modern water system, commissioned to provide safe drinking water to residents in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region. The project, funded by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation in partnership with World Vision, began in February 2025 and was implemented in collaboration with the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly.
Robel Wamisho, World Vision's Programme Associate Director for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, stated the facility has a storage capacity of 100,000 litres and can serve the entire community. Approximately 200 households are already connected, with plans to extend service to an additional 1,000 households. Joseph Akparibo, Municipal Chief Executive for Asunafo North, described the project as a major relief, noting the community previously relied on boreholes that often did not provide safe drinking water. He assured that measures are in place for maintenance, with a dedicated foundation assigned to oversee the project's sustainability.
