Court to determine whether or not to strike out charges against former NAFCO boss today
Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, former National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) Chief Executive Officer, will have the Accra High Court determine today, July 23, 2026, whether or not to strike out 16 counts of offences against him. The prosecution stated that between February 2017 and February 2025, Aludiba caused NAFCO to pay approximately GH¢50,879,210 to business enterprises for foodstuff purchases.
Aludiba and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, are facing multiple counts including defrauding by false pretence, stealing, and money laundering, and have pleaded not guilty to the charges at the court presided over by Justice Francis Apangabuno Achibonga. Aludiba's lawyer, Godfred Yeboah Dame, argued that the charge sheet was "fatally defective" and breached his client's right to a fair trial under Article 19(2)(d) of the Constitution and sections 109 and 112 of Act 30. He stated that the charges lacked specific details for Aludiba to understand and defend himself, and that the prosecution had combined distinct offences into single counts.
