Court admits 'omitted' UMB bank statements of Adu-Boahene into evidence
Kwabena Adu-Boahene had his UMB bank statements admitted into evidence in his ongoing trial, reportedly on March 17, 2026, in Accra. Dr. Dominic Ayine Akuritinga, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, accused Adu-Boahene of transferring $7 million (GH¢49 million) into his personal UMB account. Dr. Ayine stated that Adu Boahene signed a $7 million contract on January 30, 2020, with RLC Holdings Limited for cyber defence system software. According to Dr. Ayine, only $1.75 million was transferred to the vendor, and the remaining GH¢39.5 million (approx. $5.25 million) was diverted to BNC Communications Bureau Limited. He also stated that on February 6, 2020, an initial amount of GH¢271 million was transferred from the NSB account at Fidelity Bank to a private BNC account at UMB for cyber defence system software.
