Committee tasked to investigate alleged mining infractions of Adamus Resources delivers its report

Chaired by Prof. Jerry Samuel Yaw Kuma, the committee was initially given between two and three weeks to complete its work. Its review focused on the circumstances surrounding the revocation of mining leases covering the Nkroful, Akango, and Salman concessions in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region. Government had revoked the leases after investigations reportedly uncovered several breaches of Ghana's mining laws and regulations, including claims that portions of the concessions had been ceded to foreign nationals without the required approval of the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources. The government further alleged that Adamus Resources' concession areas had become sites of repeated infractions in contravention of Ghana's mining laws.
