Car dealer shot dead, wife critically injured in attack at Tuba Beach Drive Estate
Kwesi Rahman, a 50-year-old car dealer, was shot dead, and his wife critically injured, after unidentified gunmen attacked the couple outside their home at Beach Drive Estate near Tuba in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region at about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6. Mr. Rahman sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died instantly at the scene, while his wife was also shot several times. According to eyewitnesses, the couple had just arrived at the entrance to their residence when an unidentified assailant emerged and opened fire on them.
Residents who heard the gunfire rushed to the scene and assisted in transporting the injured woman to a nearby hospital. Faustina Antwi, an eyewitness, said the body of the deceased had been conveyed to the police morgue for preservation and autopsy. A resident who witnessed the aftermath of the attack said, "I was outside around 9:50 when I heard what sounded like a gunshot. So I quickly went inside and told my mum that I had heard gunshots. When we came out, we saw people coming from down there. When I got there, I saw him lying in front of his gate. I didn't see anybody and I didn't hear any noise. It was just the gunshot I heard." The incident has left residents of Beach Drive Estate shaken.
