Bukom accident: One more victim dies a week after ghastly crash
Haruna passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, August 4, just over a week after the devastating accident occurred on July 27 at Bukom Junction in the Ga Mashie area of Accra. He had been battling injuries sustained in the crash, which reportedly involved a vehicle that suffered brake failure and crashed into a group of pedestrians. Haruna sustained serious injuries to both legs, received medical treatment, and was discharged from the hospital, but his condition deteriorated. His death has raised the toll from the accident to two.
The fatal crash claimed its first victim, Esther Arthur, at the scene. She was reportedly withdrawing cash by the roadside when struck by the vehicle and became trapped beneath debris, pronounced dead at the scene. Seven other people, including children and a pregnant woman, sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
