Bohyen chief appeals for fire station
Nana Antwi Boasiako II, Chief of Bohyen in the Ashanti Region, appealed to the government to establish a fire station in the area during celebrations marking his 25th anniversary on the throne. He stated that "the absence of fire stations in communities including Bantama, Bohyen, Abrepo, Barekese, Mankranso, Adugyama and Offinso makes it difficult for firefighters to respond quickly to fire outbreaks." He also called for the National Ambulance Service to extend its services to the area and for a community centre to be built at Bohyen.
Nana Boasiako II praised Francis Asenso-Boakye, Member of Parliament for Bantama, for his contribution to development, mentioning a police station, inner roads, a classroom block, an Astroturf football park, and a community library. The week-long anniversary celebration included a clean-up exercise, a health walk, a health screening, a blood donation, an interdenominational church service, an old-school street jam, and a cultural display. As part of the anniversary, Nana Boasiako II inaugurated a refurbished palace. Dr. Nana Kwaku Duah, a businessman, commended the Chief for his commitment to Bohyen's development over the last 25 years.
