Asante Kotoko should have kept Karim Zito - Yaw Preko

Yaw Preko expressed the view that Asante Kotoko should have retained and supported former head coach Abdul Karim Zito during his stint with the club. According to Preko, "Asante Kotoko should have kept coach Abdul Karim Zito until the end of the season." He also said, "He's a good coach and could have competed strongly for the league title."

Zito was brought in as an interim replacement for Prosper Narteh Ogum midway through last season before earning a two-year permanent contract. His tenure ended after Kotoko's FA Cup defeat to Aduana FC on penalties, after which he departed the club. He has since taken charge of AshantiGold 04 and guided them to Premier League qualification. Following Zito's exit, Prince Yaw Owusu was appointed interim head coach but struggled to turn results around and has since left the role.

Youth team coach Hamza Obeng is now taking charge of the first team. Kotoko under Obeng will hope to secure a win when they travel to play Dreams FC this weekend in the Matchday 31 games at the Tuba Astro Turf.
