Asamoah Gyan was unveiled as Ambassador for Ghana's National Teams and Colts Football on Wednesday night in Accra. The Football Association held a ceremony at the Pelican Hotel.

He will also represent the Football Association at key engagements and champion initiatives designed to deepen national support for Ghana football. President Simeon-Okraku said that Gyan carried the hopes, dreams, expectations and emotions of millions of Ghanaians on his shoulders for nearly two decades. Asamoah Gyan remains Ghana's all-time leading scorer and Africa's highest scorer at the World Cup with 51 goals for Ghana. President Simeon-Okraku said that Asamoah Gyan etched his name permanently into history by scoring Ghana's first-ever FIFA World Cup goal against the Czech Republic in 2006. The Football Association also celebrated Gyan's philanthropy, investments, and longstanding commitment to youth empowerment and community development through the Asamoah Gyan Foundation.
President Simeon-Okraku stated that by unveiling Asamoah Gyan as Ambassador of the Ghana Football Association for the National Teams, they are embracing legacy, institutionalising inspiration, and reconnecting the future with one of the greatest symbols of Ghana's football heritage.
