Apam SHS to be upgraded from Category B to A school - Education Minister
Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister for Education, announced plans to upgrade Apam Senior High School in the Central Region from a Category B to a Category A institution. This announcement was made at a ceremony marking the 73rd anniversary of Great Apam Senior High School. The school will benefit from infrastructure and development interventions under the Transformative Secondary Education for Access, Results and Relevance for Jobs (STARR-J) project.
The planned upgrade will be supported by infrastructure expansion and renovation works. The government will also work towards completing abandoned GETFund projects at the school. Additionally, Mr. Iddrisu announced plans to provide Great Apam Senior High School with a school bus. These interventions are part of the government's strategy to improve infrastructure in selected Senior High Schools, increase access to secondary education, and provide students with better learning environments. The STARR-J project is expected to support the expansion and improvement of secondary education infrastructure.
