Headmistress Betty Akua Hagan described some classrooms as a "death trap" during the school's graduation ceremony, warning that the worsening condition could lead to disaster. She revealed that several classroom blocks have developed deep cracks and other structural defects, creating fear among teachers and pupils who are forced to use classrooms that could collapse.
Madam Betty Akua Hagan stated that the unsafe learning environment is affecting teaching and learning, with staff and pupils struggling to carry out academic activities. She appealed to the government, the Birim Central Municipal Assembly, and other stakeholders for intervention to rehabilitate the school and provide a safe environment. Teaching and non-teaching staff also shared concerns, stating the dilapidated condition of classrooms makes effective teaching and learning difficult, and appealed for renovation to protect lives and improve academic activities.
