Akosua Agyapong urges mothers to raise children responsibly
Akosua Agyapong has advised mothers to raise their children responsibly, warning that such behaviour can negatively affect their growth and future. She said, "Many women put unnecessary pressure on their children because they want them to be like others. Every child is unique and should be nurtured based on their individual talents and abilities." She also cautioned that unhealthy competition and constant comparison could push some children into bad behaviour and negatively impact their future.
Akosua Agyapong made the call during the third edition of her special Mother's Day celebration, organised to honour the strength, resilience and unconditional love of mothers-particularly single mothers and widows who continue to sacrifice for their families and communities. The event attracted several dignitaries and distinguished women from different sectors of society. Among those recognised were the Vice President, the Chief Fire Officer and her deputy, the Director-General of the Prisons Service, and the Greater Accra Regional Minister for their contributions to national development and women's empowerment.
Some women and group leaders who attended the event also called on mothers across the country to be more responsible in raising their children and to support one another in building a better society. According to them, mothers must show love, discipline, and proper guidance to help raise responsible future leaders. Some of the group leaders stated, "Women must support one another and guide their children with love and discipline so we can build a better society."
