Adu-Boahene case is straightforward, not complex - Deputy AG

Dr Justice Srem-Sai, Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, dismissed suggestions that the criminal case against former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahene is complex, insisting the prosecution's case is simple and based on clear evidence. Speaking on The Law with Samson Lardy Anyenini on JoyNews on Sunday, 26 July, Dr Srem-Sai alleged a deliberate public and media campaign to create the impression that the case was more complicated than it actually is, stating, "I think there's a very determined public campaign, media campaign, to create an impression. It's a simple case, Samson."

According to Dr Srem-Sai, the prosecution's case centers on allegations that public funds earmarked for the purchase of defence equipment were transferred from a government account into a private account and subsequently used for personal acquisitions. He maintained that evidence gathered by the prosecution showed the money was instead allegedly spent on private assets, including houses and high-end cars for rent. Dr Srem-Sai argued that the alleged conduct amounted to criminal offences involving public funds, such as stealing or causing financial loss.
