Ghana has secured a minimum of $13.5 million in FIFA prize money after booking a place in the Round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup. Ghana's guaranteed earnings combine a preparation grant with $11 million awarded for reaching the first knockout round.
FIFA has committed a record $871 million in total team payments for the competition, including $655 million in performance-based prize money. Each participating nation receives $2.5 million as preparation funding. Teams eliminated at the group stage take home $10 million in performance payments, bringing their minimum total earnings to $12.5 million. Prize money increases to $15 million for reaching the Round of 16, $19 million for the quarterfinals, $27 million for fourth place, $29 million for third place, $33 million for runners-up, and $50 million for the champions. Ghana will face Colombia in the Round of 32 on Saturday, July 4, at the Kansas City Stadium. The 2026 tournament is the first World Cup to feature 48 teams and a Round of 32 stage.
