1980 Kokofu M/A year group donates dustbins to boost community sanitation efforts
The 1980 Year Group of the Kokofu M/A Old Students Association donated ten high-capacity dustbins to three schools and the Kokofu community in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region to promote sanitation and proper waste management during a homecoming ceremony in Kokofu. The donation is expected to support efforts to curb indiscriminate littering and improve environmental cleanliness.
Kwabena Adu Boaben, Chairman of the group, said that sanitation remains a key pillar of healthy living. He explained that the initiative was driven by the need to provide essential infrastructure to ensure a clean and safe environment for both students and residents. Unit Committee Secretary Yaw Asumadu expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that the availability of waste bins removes any excuse for improper waste disposal.
The 1980 Year Group hopes the intervention will instill a lasting culture of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental responsibility in Kokofu and its surrounding areas. Kwabena Adu Boaben called on other alumni groups to contribute to the development of their alma mater and the broader Kokofu community. Yaw Asumadu urged other year groups to emulate the initiative by identifying and addressing pressing needs within the school and the community.
