Iyanna Kumashie, a 12-year-old swimmer from GH Aquatic Masters, took the Meet of Champions 2026 by storm with 13 medals at the Borteyman Aquatic Center from Saturday, June 13 to Sunday, June 14, 2026. She became the joint second-best female swimmer in Ghana at the end of the two-day swimming championship. Iyanna bagged 9 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and a bronze medal, totaling 13 medals. She won gold in Girls 11-12 100m Breaststroke with a time of 1:41.61s, Girls 11-12 200m Butterfly with a time of 3:33.63s, and Girls 11-12 50m Breaststroke.
Iyanna Kumashie was born on April 26, 2014, in Accra and began her swimming career at the age of 8. She made her debut in the 2022/2023 Season of the Ghana Swim League. At the Meet of Champions 2026, she became the best female swimmer in her age category. She accumulated a total of 70 FINA points, placing her alongside Mercedes Abdallah as joint second-best female swimmer in Season 4 of the Ghana Swim League Meet of Champions. Only Oduma Agyei, 16, of Ghana Dolphins, has more FINA points (73). Iyanna improved upon her 2024/2025 season's performance where she won 5 silver and 3 bronze medals, and her 2023/2024 season where she won 4 gold and 1 silver medal.
